Keeping Our Waters Clean

The idea for our company sprouted in June of 2018, when we traveled on a research trip through Trout Unlimited. The trip was centered around brook trout research and restoration projects across Pennsylvania. As we traveled across Pennsylvania fishing and collecting data in the most remote streams and rivers, we noticed a recurring trend of plastic and garbage polluting the waterways. After returning from the trip we began taking notice of the abundance of plastic in the streams we regularly fish.

We started taking notes and doing more research on plastic pollution and found the majority of anglers we surveyed come across plastic every time they fish. As we continued our research we found that environmental cleanup companies who actively remove plastic from fisheries were centered around salt water only. This hit home to us, and opened our eyes to see the need for a voice for our freshwater fisheries.

In April of 2019, we created Fish Gods, an environmental company geared towards protecting and cleaning our waterways to ensure the future sustainability of our fisheries. We entered the idea into the Ben Franklin Tech-Celerator program and got accepted for their summer business boot camp. Fish Gods took first place and won $5,000 which helped launch our startup venture.
In September of 2019, we formed Fish Gods LLC to become the leader in the outdoor industry to combat plastic pollution and other environmental concerns that impede on our waterways and fisheries.

On November 19th, 2020 we successfully raised $20,889 to bring the Clean Earth Bag to life. We have sold Clean Earth Bags to every state across the U.S. and are successfully cleaning up our waters one bag at a time.
